Shots supporters are advised that all 700 tickets allocated to Aldershot Town for tomorrows League Two match against AFC Wimbledon have now SOLD OUT. There will be no further tickets on sale and no admission will be allowed on the day without a valid ticket. Young supporters are also advised to take along ID confirming their age as we have been advised that spot checks are made on anyone looking older than they re claiming and if you are unable to verify age, the difference in ticket price will be required otherwise admission may be refused. With pre-match ticket sales going well for home fans too, it is expected that the fixture will be a complete sell out – meaning a great atmosphere for what looks like being a relegation six-pointer! We’ve now heard back from the Wimbledon Media department and the good news for those unable to be there is that Match Blogger Rob will be, so you can follow Shots progess via Shotsweb's Live Match Updates thread. BBC Radio Surrey will also be providing their usual match day coverage on 104.6FM (only) with Gavin Denison and Steve Gibbs and you can also join in with Nobby’s chat room which will open it’s doors at 2.30pm. We will of course have our usual Free For All and Post Match threads in operation via Shots Talk, so feel free to get involved! You can catch up with all of Dean Holdsworth's pre-match thoughts on BBC Radio Surrey. |

Aldershot Town have announced that 20-year old striker Stefan Payne has joined the club until the end of the season following his release from League Two promotion hopefuls Gillingham by “mutual consent”. Having been on the books of Croydon Athletic and Sutton United, the youngster was eventually snapped up by Fulham but ended up joining the Gills in June 2010, where he went on to make 37 appearances but only 3 of those involved being named in the Gills starting line-up, and he scored just 2 goals. |

ALDERSHOT TOWN 0 ACCRINGTON STANLEY 0 Another blank for Shots, but to be fair, they fully deserved the point they gained (their first of 2012) against an Accrington side that came with excellent recent form and that solitary point was another one gained towards safety. Despite Shots going more than 8 hours without scoring a goal, prior to kick off, a mini wave of optimism spread around the EBB Stadium, thanks to the signing - finally - of a goal scoring striker! Guy Madjo - who had scored 8 goals in his previous 6 matches AGAINST Shots, including a hat-trick - just a month or so ago whilst on loan to Port Vale - this time, would wear the red and blue strip OF Aldershot Town. With Jermaine McGlashan sold this week to Cheltenham Town, Alex Rodman and Michael Rankine likely to be out for the remainder of the season and young winger Adam Mekki returning to the club, Shots manager Dean Holdsworth was always going to name a fresh looking line-up for this match. And that he certainly did, with Madjo making his debut and Mekki joining, pacy youth forward Jordan Roberts and Hull loanee Sonny Bradley. Rotherham loanne Troy Brown kept his place in the starting line-up alongside Darren Jones. |

A little under 24-hours after leaving Aldershot Town, midfielder Luke Guttridge has been revealed as bottom club Northampton Town’s latest signing. The former Shots player was released from the club yesterday “by mutual consent” and speaking on the decision, boss Dean Holdsworth told BBC Radio Surrey: “I could sense that there were things ‘not right’, he seemed frustrated and he was in a place where he wasn’t happy. “It’s a culmination of a few things really, nothing major – no fall outs, but he was obviously looking at the end of the season, thinking he may go on somewhere else and I wasn’t comfortable [for him] just seeing the season out. “We’re in a real place at the moment where we need everybody really thinking about the performances of Aldershot and as manager, I needed to get to the bottom of it so we had a conversation and we came to the same conclusion.” |

ALDERSHOT TOWN 0 OXFORD UNITED 3 It will come as little surprise to read that The Shots have failed to win more than two league games in a row this season thus far, and after Saturday’s “performance” against a competent U’s side, there’s no wonder that supporters patience is beginning to wear thin. The change from watching a comedy of errors has mutated into a macabre affair and but for the East Bank making their own entertainment for the afternoon, there was little else to smile about. |
